Dr. Youssef Mosallam Superintendent Crestwood School District, Dearborn, Michigan

Dr. Mosallam, who has served as Superintendent since 2019, has led Crestwood School District through a period of significant growth and transformation. With a student population that includes over 50% economically disadvantaged students and 49% English Language Learners (ELL), Dr. Mosallam has focused on ensuring that every child has access to the tools they need to succeed. His leadership has reshaped the district’s approach to both academic excellence and social-emotional learning (SEL).

This recognition is based on evidence of outstanding achievement as a school district superintendent, demonstrated belief in continuous improvement, and commitment to collaboration and mutual support in the profession. The NASS Superintendent of the Year Selection Panel, including Dr. Jim Capolupo and Dr. Rob Clayton, and led by Dr. Jill Gildea, named Lisa Harrod 2023 Finalist and  Kirk Koennecke 2023 NASS Superintendent of the Year.

This recognition is based on evidence of outstanding achievement as a school district superintendent, demonstrated belief in continuous improvement, and commitment to collaboration and mutual support in the profession.
